From Eric Rummel in California, my relocation consultant, to Silas my moving coordinator in New York and finally the successful drop off in California, everything was on time, from packing to unpacking, it was all handled with great care. When one chooses to move to another state it's an overwhelming experience, but they made it easy by being so caring and supportive. Also great value for such a large move.

If there is a moving pitfall to be had, I have experienced it.
For a current move from the SF area to the NYC metro area, I decided to use CA-NY Express Cross Country Movers. I liked the detail of their website, the reviews, and the fact that they handle the moved items the entire move (no outsourcing some of the move to another vendor). I also wanted a company with experience in the NYC metro area. Moves to this area require a mover who knows the geographic area (e.g., the roads) and the area's regulations/laws. As anybody familiar with the area knows, this is a tough, tough area for moving trucks and the moving process. Nonetheless, I made a mental list of the usual pitfalls which I expected to encounter and how I would resolve them. Much to my surprise, however, my pitfall list was unnecessary. This company is amazing!! The customer service team is first-rate. My dealings thus far are with Eric and Kim who are rapidly responsive to every question and request. Automated messages which keep me updated on the location of the items after pickup are very helpful. My items are currently in transit. The pickup moving team was the best I have ever encountered. It was clear the team had worked together for a while - which in and of itself is saying something about the quality of the company. The team packaged the items to be moved with great care, professionalism, and efficiency. Quite frankly I was astonished how carefully and efficiently the team worked. Each unpacked item was packed to a level greater than I expected. And each item was loaded into the truck with more thought and care than I expected. I sum up my experience with this company with the highest praise I can give: The people at this company know their business inside and out and they are exceedingly competent. The people convey an attitude that they want your move to go well - better than well - even more than you do. 
They were prompt, quick, and very good priced compared to other moving companies in Los Angeles.

The move was smooth. They had NYC knowledge in terms of parking, areas, etc.

The crew that took care of packing was extremely efficient and seemed to know exactly what to do. The delivery was the same great service, even with the my buildings very specific needs for delivery times.

The delivery went smoothly, and my things were received in the same condition they were before being packed. My final price was a little less than the estimated price, which was great! The cost of the moving was worth it and not too expensive, and delivered it within 10 days (and this was during Christmas and New Years week!). Amazing, and efficient, would highly recommend!

They do what they say, direct moving from CA to NY or vise versa. After my recommendation a friend wanted to move to Virginia and contacted them, they apologized, said they cannot do it.
