Carrier
A carrier is the term often used for your movers or the moving company you hired to move your household or business goods.

Claim
A claim is rightful demand compensation due to loss or damage to your household goods while being under your mover's responsibility. You must file a claim within 9 months from the event. You should also note the problem on the moving company's copy of the bill of lading before signing it.

C.O.D. (cash on delivery)
C.O.D. is the common term for shipments in which payment is required in full upon delivery. Usually payments are required in cash or cashier check, however, some movers accepts credit cards as well.

Consignee
A consignee is the person to whom the shipment is to be delivered.

Consignor
A consignor is the person from whom the shipment picked up from.

Cost of Move
The amount the move will cost without including additional charges such as storage fees, insurance, etc. the final cost of your move is affected by many factors such as flight of stairs, distance between your residence and the truck, size of the move, and more.

CP (Carrier Packed)
This term is used to mark articles packed by your moving company. This term is common when you order packing services from you mover.
