Accessorial / Additional Services
Services such as packing, appliance servicing, unpacking, or extra
pick-ups that are needed due to either your request or building
regulations may result in additional charges.
Advanced Charges
Charges for, services provided at your request by a third party other
than the mover. Charges are billed to the mover who in turn, bills the client.
Agent
A local moving company authorized to act on behalf of a larger, national
company. An agent may be involved in booking, at the point of origin, or
at the destination.
Anti-Static Bubble Wrap
Pliable transparent plastic material, this lightweight bubble padding is a
packing supply, commonly used for packing delicate or fragile items,
while keeping static at bay. It is also water resistant, reusable and non-scratching.
Appliance Dolly
Commonly used to help you load and unload large items like
appliances and oversized furniture, this dolly can be often rented from
self-service movers. Use of appliance dolly is a standard service offered
by every moving company.
Appliance Service
The cost incurred in preparing major appliances for safe transportation.
Appliances are disconnected at the originating residence and
reconnected at the new residence. Covered appliances include
washers, dryers, dishwashers, and refrigerators.
Certain movers charge a surcharge for this service while others simply charge the amount of time the actual service takes. If a particular mover does not perform this service or contracts with a third party, the field is marked "N/A".
Assessed Value Coverage
The amount of much money you pay per $1000 of assessed value to
cover your household items to their fully assessed value. Opting for this
coverage requires a cash value to be assigned to the items you will be moving.
Some valuation policies are calculated on a sliding scale, where the price per $1,000 of coverage will vary depending upon the total amount of coverage. In such cases, carriers are requested to quote valuation prices based on $25,000 of coverage.
